Install instructions
Mac Version should be able to be played easily through the Itch.io desktop app. Otherwise, one thing you can try to do is run the following command in a command prompt. I have no idea if this will fully work.
chmod -R 755 /fullPath/Amalgamation.app
Or try Ctrl+clicking the app and opening it.

This is truly a sublime piece of work.
One question, though. Is the multi-colored object approaching the star a spacecraft of some sort?
My headcannon is that it's the last survivor's of a dying universe, trying desperately to harvest a remaining source of re before the final (heat) death of the universe.
Yep, supposed to be a spaceship. The story I had in mind was that all sentient living things had left this dying universe for another. The spaceship is just an automated structure that goes around searching for resources, serving no one.
I like your headcannon as well, though.
